Missing student returns home
Victoria Stephenson
Detetives travelled back with Miss Stephenson
Missing university student Victoria Stephenson has returned home after being found safe in Dublin.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police are speaking to the Manchester Metropolitan University student to find out how she came to be in the Irish Republic capital.

The 19-year-old disappeared four days ago in Manchester after apparently going to interview homeless people as part of her degree course.

Miss Stephenson walked into a police station in Dublin on Saturday morning.

Our officers will continue to interview her to find out the issues behind her disappearance

GMP spokeswoman

Greater Manchester Police officers and her family travelled to Dublin to see Miss Stephenson.

Officers returned to Manchester with Vicky on Sunday, where they continued to interview her.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "Vicky returned to Manchester and was reunited with her family.

"Our officers will continue to interview her to find out the issues behind her disappearance.

Police hunt

"She will not necessarily be taken to a police station. She will be interviewed wherever she is most comfortable.

"The interview process could last for several days."

Vicky lived with her parents until the age of 16, but then moved in with the family of her best friend.

Miss Stephenson's disappearance started a massive police hunt.

Her parents travelled from the family home in south London to Manchester to help look for her.
