Fan charged with racist chanting
Manchester City's Eyal Berkovic and Charlton Athletics Scott Parker in Saturday's game
Mr Lawrence was held as Charlton battled Man City
A football fan at a Charlton Athletic match has been charged with indecent or racist chanting.

Barrie Edward Lawrence, a 30-year-old security consultant from south-east London, was arrested at the club's Valley ground on Saturday.

The arrest came shortly after kick-off in the match against Manchester City.

Mr Lawrence's arrest for alleged abuse followed an "intelligence-led" operation by the Metropolitan Police's Diversity Unit.

Mr Lawrence was also charged with using racially aggravated threatening words and behaviour.

He will appear before Woolwich magistrates on Thursday.
