The boy died in hospital at Birmingham
Detectives have launched an investigation into the death of a three-year-old foster child who died after slipping into a coma.

Christian Blewitt died at the Diana, Princess of Wales Children's Hospital in Birmingham on Thursday.

A man and a woman were detained on suspicion of wounding and child neglect following the child's death.

They have been released on bail pending further inquiries.

A West Mercia Constabulary spokeswoman said: "Inquiries into the incident are continuing and police are liaising with Sandwell social service"

Christian was originally taken into care by Sandwell social services and had been living with foster parents in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.
