Candlelit vigil for murdered nurse
Deborah Remorozo
Deborah Remorozo was found stabbed to death
Friends and colleagues of a nurse murdered in Greater Manchester are holding a nine-day candlelit vigil in her memory.

Debbie Remorozo came to the UK from the Philippines to work for the NHS.

Her body was found in her flat in Summervale House, Vale Drive, Oldham, on Sunday 8 December.

A post-mortem examination revealed she had been stabbed to death.

Her friend Arji Pruelo said her murder had made many foreign nurses working in the area fear for their safety.

'Very afraid'

She said: "We think of this place [England] as heaven for us and we feel very safe here.

"But it's not the case now, we're very much afraid and we don't know what to do.

"We don't go alone anymore, there's always fear inside us."

Police have said they have no idea why anybody would want to kill her.

They have been trying to piece together her last movements prior to her death.

Ms Remorozo started working in the town in 2001 after arriving to ease the NHS staffing crisis.
