Uni chiefs consider campus plans
Seale Hayne is one of two campuses under threat
The Governors of the University of Plymouth are meeting on Friday to decide on major restructuring proposals.
Under the plans students at outlying campuses at Exeter and Seale Hayne, near Newton Abbot, would be transferred to Plymouth. Students are campaigning against the move. David Clarke from the National Union of Students said that Friday would be a day of protests. Mr Clarke said: "We have got a day of mass action. "We have picket lines at all of our campuses and there will also be 2000 balloons at the city campus to represent the students who will be affected by these relocations." University bosses believe that by concentrating resources at a new centralised site in Plymouth, they can improve research and teaching. |
