Stolen painting goes back on show
Marcus Levey
Two of Mr Levey's paintings are still missing
A painting stolen from the Queen's Hotel in Leeds is now back on display after being recovered by police.

Star Spiral is one of three paintings by abstract artist Marcus Levey that disappeared from the hotel in September.

It is alleged a guest at the hotel obtained them from Mr Levey but left without paying.

Two of the missing paintings are now thought to be in Sweden, but Star Spiral was found by police in Nottingham.

In demand

A woman has been arrested and released on bail.

In total, the three paintings are worth about £5,000.

Mr Levey, who is 60 and lives in the Alwoodley area of Leeds, said: "When art thieves steal your paintings you know your work is in demand.

"But I would much rather they purchased them."
