Search goes on for boy's killer
The Doyle family at the spot where Ross was killed
The mother of an Oxford schoolboy who died after he was hit by a stolen car, has made a renewed appeal for help in finding the driver.
Ross Doyle was nine-years-old when he was hit by the car and killed in Blackbird Leys. Speaking on the second anniversary of his death, his mother Cheryl said: "I just don't know how we'll cope with it if they're never caught, I really don't." There have been a number of arrests, but the police say they still do not have enough evidence to bring a case to court.
The schoolboy was on his way back from a football match with friends when he was hit by the car. His mother made an appeal for help at the spot where Ross died. She said: "I wasn't here when it happened and I feel sick, I think that's what I feel most of the time, and it just sort of upsets me to come here, but it's just something I have to do." £10,000 reward She said the fact that the driver has yet to be traced made it more difficult for the family to come to terms with Ross's death. Detective Inspector Dermot Norridge from Thames Valley Police said: "We're determined to find out who the driver was. "There is a £10,000 reward and there is immunity from prosecution for the passenger to come forward because obviously the passenger would be able to identify the driver. "That passenger could make a statement which could put that driver in court."
