Pitch invaders could be charged
Lincoln City FC badge
Lincoln fans have been in trouble twice this season
Fans of Lincoln's football club could be charged with criminal offences for running on to the pitch following the team's last match.

A number of Lincoln City supporters stormed the pitch at Oxford United's Kassam Stadium after the final whistle.

Club officials are currently liaising with Thames Valley Police, after studying photos and a video to identify those involved.

This just tarnishes the name of Lincoln City

Rob Bradley, club chairman
Lincoln chairman Rob Bradley said the board has already banned the offending supporters from home games for the rest of this season and the next.

Between 20 and 30 fans climbed over fences and ran towards Oxford fans following Lincoln's 1-0 defeat on 30 November.

Mr Bradley said: "We have seen a lot of matches - Lincoln have been in games and ones on the television - and I haven't seen anything like that this season.

"I think it was disgraceful.

"This just tarnishes the name of Lincoln City and it is totally unnecessary.

"We are just not going to tolerate this sort of thing."

He said letters were being sent out to the offending fans and a scheme using photographs was being put in place at Sincil Bank to make sure they cannot get in.

The club will also warn away grounds about the banned fans.
