Victim was found in an alleyway in city centre
A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of 54-year-old Warren McCauley in Belfast last week.

Mr McCauley, 54, was found with serious head and chest injuries in an alleyway off Ann Street at 0750 GMT last Tuesday.

He died in hospital last Thursday. The police said they were treating his death as murder after a post-mortem examination was carried out.

He was last seen on the previous Monday when he went into Belfast to do some Christmas shopping.

His car was parked on Dunbar Link in the city centre at about 1600 GMT.

Police said he had been due to meet someone at a the Custom House bar in the city centre later in the evening.

Police carried out a reconstruction in the Ann Street area a week after the killing.
