Barrister faces second rape charge
Court generic
A barrister has appeared in court charged with a second offence of rape.

Andy Darkoh, 45, a lawyer with Bedford Borough Council's legal department, faced a charge of raping a woman and indecently assaulting her.

Mr Darkoh, from Northamptonshire, appeared before magistrates in Luton on Thursday.

Mr Darkoh was granted conditional bail and told he must continue to live with his wife at his home in Northamptonshire.

The magistrates sent the case to Luton Crown Court where he will appear next Friday for a preliminary hearing.

Mr Darkoh has already appeared before the crown court charged with rape and indecent assault on another woman.

For that charge, he is due to appear in the crown court on 7 January.
