Broken back man 'home' for Christmas
Jim Faultner was being treated at Morriston Hospital
A Herefordshire man who was facing Christmas in hospital in Swansea has been found a bed nearer home.
Jim Faultner, from Home Lacey, was being treated in Morriston Hospital after breaking his back in an accident at work. He had been told no beds were available in Herefordshire and the waiting lists were too long. But a bed has now been found for him at the county's Ross Community Hospital, which means he will be near his family for Christmas. 'A miracle' His wife Joyce, said the news was the best Christmas present the family could have been given. She told BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester: "I couldn't think about it. "As a family we would have gone to pieces because Christmas is a time for family and we were going to be literally travelling up and down the motorway because the kids and I wanted to be with Jim. "We had to do something to get Jim home and now its happened, it's a miracle."
