Bali
Search for clues
The Security Service made a "serious misjudgement" in its assessment of the threat to British lives in Indonesia before the Bali bomb, according to a Parliamentary report. The report also criticises the way the Foreign office advises travel agents and the public about the safety of holiday destinations.

We looked at how these errors came about, and the delicate problem of issuing warnings where necessary, without paralysing business and tourism.

Foundation Hospitals
The Government has been revealing just how its planned foundation hospitals will work. The Health Secretary is said to have clashed with the Chancellor about just how much independence they should be allowed.

We examined whether they really represent a radical change to the running of the health service.

Simon Rattle
In the first of our end of year interviews, the conductor Simon Rattle talked to us about his new job at the Berlin Philharmonic, and the difficulties of making entertainment and art out of the holocaust.
