Rise in drink-drive arrests
Breath test
More people are failing breath tests in Cambridgeshire
More than 24 motorists every week have been arrested for drink-driving in Cambridgeshire since the beginning of the year, new figures have shown.

According to the statistics released by Cambridgeshire police, 1,162 people were arrested up until the end of November for failing or refusing a breath test.

The overall figure is 10% up on last year.

As a result Cambridgeshire police are planning a series of high-profile drink-drive road checks from 18 December and continuing into the new year.

All drivers will be stopped at various locations, night and day, and spoken to about drink-drive issues.

Any driver suspected of drinking will be breath-tested.
