Record collector is top of the pops
Roy Jackson and his record collection
Roy has more than 1600 records in his collection
A record collector is finally top of the pops after finishing his collection of every number one UK single and album.

Roy Jackson now has about 950 singles and 670 albums in the dining room of his Manchester home.

The 55-year-old began his obsession 10 years ago when he realised he already owned half the records to make it to the top of the singles chart.

The final piece in the jigsaw was a copy of The Beatles' Yesterday EP.

A record collector contacted him after his search for the elusive disc was featured in the newspapers last month.

He said: "I'm absolutely chuffed to bits. I never thought I'd be able to get hold of Yesterday because it's so rare.

"Now I'll have to think of something else to collect instead."
