Pedestrian dies in road accident
Police in car
Police are investigating how the man died
An elderly pedestrian has been killed in a road accident in Shropshire.

The crash happened on the A41 at Tern Hill just after 0700 GMT on Wednesday.

The man was in an accident with a car heading towards Wolverhampton - the driver was not injured.

It is the second death on the same section of the A41 in less than three months.

Firefighter killed

The road at Tern Hill was closed for more than three hours, but has since reopened.

In September, 42-year-old firefighter Andrew Wisdom, from Tern Hill, was killed as he was walking near the Stormy Petrel pub.

His death prompted renewed calls for the speed limit on that stretch of the A41 to be reduced to 30mph.
