Health survey shapes future services
Doctor's surgery
Are people prepared to travel for health care?
Web users in South Yorkshire will be able to have a say in the future of health care for the county.

South Yorkshire Strategic Health Authority is using the initiative to involve local people in the health services they use.

The online survey will find out what health professionals people prefer to use and where patients like to see them.

It covers issues such as waiting times, whether people are prepared to travel to receive care and weekend treatment.

Chief executive Mike Farrar said: "It is really important that we learn of people's views about the kind of local health services they want."

He added: "One aim of this pilot scheme is to discover to what extent we can gather useful information from people who are online."
