New appeal over fatal pub shooting
The Thatched House pub where the shooting took place
Mr Craven died in hospital from his injuries
Police in Liverpool are continuing high-profile patrols in an area where a man was fatally shot.

Raymond Craven, 27, died after shots were fired by one of two masked men who burst in to a busy pub in Wavertree.

A week after the incident at the Thatched House in Wavertree High Street, detectives made a new appeal to find Mr Craven's killer.

Two other men sustained injuries during the incident which occured at about 2215 GMT on 3 December.

Detectives do not know whether Mr Craven was deliberately targeted by the gunman, although they have said they think he was in "the wrong place at the wrong time".

The gunman, and two others, sped away from the scene in a stolen, silver, Subaru Impreza which was found burnt out close to the pub, in Greenbank Park, off Greenbank Road.

The car, which carried the false registration M106 TDB, was stolen from a car dealership in Middlewich, Cheshire on or about 26 November.

'Parents devastated'

A silver car was also seen being driven in to Greenbank Park before the shooting, at about 2130 GMT.

On Tuesday, Detective Chief Inspector Lol Carr paid tribute to Mr Craven, who had worked for electronics firm Marconi.

"Ray lived with his parents who are devastated by their sons' death," he said.

"He was a popular young man, which is borne out by the number of floral tributes placed outside the Thatched House by his friends, family and members of the public."
