Burglars jailed for killing man
David Stretch
David Stretch was found covered in blood in his flat
Two burglars who murdered a man when he disturbed them in his city centre flat have been jailed for life.

David Stretch, 38, was found covered in blood in his apartment in Dale Street, Liverpool, in June.

Liverpool Crown Court heard 32-year-old Kevin Fell, of Sunnyside, Toxteth, and Paul Green, 30, of no fixed address, stamped and stood on Mr Stretch and tied his hands behind his back.

He suffered serious head and neck wounds in the attack.

Blamed each other

His body was found by two colleagues who were worried after he failed to turn up to work.

Fell and Green had denied murder but admitted burglary.

During the course of the trial they both blamed each other for the violence.

But they were convicted of Mr Stretch's murder by a jury.
