Windfarm decision expected
Wind turbine
Objections have been raised over the windfarm plans
A decision is expected this week as to whether an environmental impact assessment is needed for a planned windfarm in south-east Cornwall.

Caradon District Council is due to decide whether such a study is necessary.

There is considerable opposition to the plans put forward by WH Bond and Sons, which has now reduced the proposed number of turbines from five to three.

One opponent of the scheme at Trerulefoot, Doctor Simon Fullalove, said the study is essential.

'Delay'

"We feel that it is an important part of any application," he said.

Chris Bond, a director of the company, said he wants to get the scheme moving as quickly as possible.

He said: "We're keen to get the project up and running for all the right reasons.

"This is a new project for the area so we did expect it would take a certain amount of time to get it moving, unfortunately it's taken a lot longer than we expected."
