Further arrests after street stabbing
Police found a 37-year-old collapsed on the pavement
Two more people have been arrested following a stabbing in Southampton which left a 37-year-old with life-threatening injuries.
The injured man was found collapsed on the pavement after a fight in the Mansion Road area of Shirley involving about 15 people. Police arrested two men after Sunday's incident. They are now questioning a local man and a woman, both in their early 20s. Detectives leading the inquiry, codenamed Operation Eastpark, are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Detective Inspector Alison Scott said: "We have spoken to some witnesses already. "But we know that there are other people in the Mansion Road area at the time who saw this happen and we would urge them to call us as soon as possible, as their information could be vital." The victim remains in a critical condition at Southampton General Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery for a stab wound to his abdomen.
