Drinker admits killing stranger
Brannigans nightclub
Shah Wahab died outside Brannigans nightclub
A drinker who killed a stranger with a single punch outside a pub has admitted manslaughter.

Builder Andrew Green hit Shah Wahab so hard he fell and cracked his head on the pavement.

Mr Wahab, 38, died of his injuries two days after the attack outside a club in Southampton.

Green, of Wavell Road in Bitterne, admitted manslaughter at Winchester Crown Court on Thursday.

New baby

The 28-year-old, whose girlfriend had a baby shortly after the attack, was remanded on conditional bail and will be sentenced in January.

Green flew at his victim outside Brannigans, a nightclub on the High Street, on 1 September.

Mr Wahab, of Cranbury Avenue in Newtown, Southampton, was rushed to hospital but later died.

Green's barrister Christopher Parker told the judge: "He sends his deep and sincere apologies to the family of the unfortunate victim."
