Pork pies: Bill Kirkham tells a few
For the second time in three years, Bill Kirkham has been crowned "The World's Greatest Liar". He beat five other competitors at an event staged in Nottingham.

BBC News Online posed a few questions to test his lying prowess.

For our files, can you start by telling us your birth date?

Yes, I was born on 31 February.

Hmmm, okay. Where were you born?

I was actually born in the trenches during World War I. My mother had lied about her age to enlist.

Julia Roberts
Mr Kirkham says he is dating Julia Roberts
Really, so how old are you?

Since finding the secret of eternal youth, age is no longer an issue to me.

Are you married?

No. But I am currently dating Julia Roberts.

What is your occupation?

I am a body double for James Bond.

Do you have any hobbies away from work?

Yes, I run the George W Bush fan club.

Mount Everest
He also rode a snowboard down Mt Everest
With this prestigious prize under your belt, what is your next project?

I am currently preparing to circumnavigate the globe - on foot. Last year I snowboarded down Mount Everest.

That is quite impressive. What is your proudest moment?

Being interviewed by you, of course.

Do you ever tell the truth?

Sorry, I have to dash. I'm hosting cocktail party on my private yacht this morning
