Diana Princess of Wales Birmingham Children's Hospital
The youngster was airlifted to hospital
Police have named a three-year-old girl who died after falling into a garden pond.

Abby Ray was reported missing from a playgroup at 1030 GMT on Thursday.

She was found minutes later in the pond of a nearby garden in Lower Brailes, south Warwickshire.

The youngster was airlifted to the Diana Princess of Wales Children's Hospital, in Birmingham but died at 1440 GMT.

Air ambulance

A Warwickshire Police spokesman said the girl had been reported missing from the village's Ready Teddy Go pre-school playgroup.

"Police are investigating how this tragic accident happened," the spokesman said.

Paramedics and police attempted to resuscitate the toddler at the scene before the air ambulance arrived.

The incident has been reported to Ofsted, who are also investigating the incident.
