Suicide bombers launch a deadly attack on a hotel on the Kenyan coast used by Israelis. Meanwhile, an Israeli holiday jet is fired on as it takes off from the nearby Mombasa airport.

At the same time, an Israeli jet was attacked by missiles on take-off from Mombasa

But the attack failed, and passengers were flown safely back to Israel.
