Police investigate sex attack on teenager
Police tape
Police cordoned off part of Devonport Park
Police in Plymouth are investigating a serious sex assault on a teenage girl.

A young man attempted to rape the 16-year-old as she walked through Devonport Park at about 2115 GMT on Wednesday.

The attacker, who was not known to the girl, is described as white, aged about 16 or 17, with short dark hair.

He was 5ft 6in tall, had a slim build and was wearing dark clothing.

Police have cordoned off part of the park for forensic investigations.

Sergeant Alan Mobbs, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said: "We are appealing for anyone in Devonport Park between 8.30 and 9.30 on Wednesday evening to come forward if they saw anything suspicious."
