Goddess crews at fatal accidents
Firefighter and green goddess
The same RAF crew attended both scenes
Two people died in seperate road accidents on a busy night for Green Goddess crews in North Yorkshire.

Retained firefighters worked alongside the RAF rescue team at both incidents and striking firefighters helped at the second.

One man was killed and two others were taken to Harrogate hospital with minor injuries when two cars collided on the B6265 south of Boroughbridge.

A second man was killed and another seriously injured at the second crash on Wednesday night.

Striking firefighters assisted crews from Northallerton at the scene on the A684 in Ainderby Steeple.

The same RAF specialist rescue team from Dishworth attended both accidents.

But a spokesman told BBC News Online that the fire strike had no bearing on the events.

"It was a sad loss of life, but both fatalities would have happened whether there was a strike or not," said Flying Officer Jon English.
