Before the advent of cheap package holidays, for many of us here was only one place to enjoy yourself - Butlins.

From tomorrow (Friday) you'll be able to re-live its golden age when archive postcards from the fifties and sixties go on display at an exhibition in London.

Photographs of Butlins holiday camps throughout the years are on display in a special exhibition at the Photographers' Gallery, London, from November 29 to January 18, 2003.

There is also a book to accompany the exhibition. It's called Our True Intent is for All Your Delight: The John Hinde Butlins Photographs. It's published by Chris Boot at £24.95. ISBN 0 9542813 06
