Girl killed in road crash
Police tape
Police want to speak to witnesses to the crash
A three-year-old girl has died in a car crash at an accident blackspot in Merseyside.

Zoe Moran was travelling in a Vauxhall Corsa driven by a relative when it collided with a Ford Focus at the junction of Sonning Avenue and Sefton Avenue in Litherland.

There have been 46 accidents on the stretch of road in the past three years.

Zoe, of Litherland, was taken to Fazakerley Hospital where she died from head injuries.

'Blind bend'

She would have celebrated her fourth birthday next week.

Pam Roberts, who witnessed the crash, said it was a particularly dangerous stretch of road.

She said: "It always happens in the same place.

"It is a bit of a blind bend anyway, there's always lots of crashes here."

A speed camera is due to be installed near the junction before April 2003.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened at about 1700 GMT on Wednesday, to come forward.
