Killer gets 5 year sentence
A south Cheshire man who killed a stranger in an unprovoked knife attack has been sentenced to five years in prison for manslaughter.
Timothy Davenport from Sandbach stabbed Colin Dafydd Jones in Hightown, Crewe in August of last year. Chester Crown Court was told the 27-year-old victim was making his way home when Davenport, 38, drew up in a white van. He then stabbed the father-of-three in the abdomen. Mr Jones died within minutes. The jury decided that Davenport had not intended to seriously injure or kill his victim. |
