Donald back for Edgbaston benefit

Allan Donald will be back to torment Michael Atherton in 1999

Allan Donald has verbally agreed with Warwickshire to return to the county for the 1999 season.

The South African fast bowler will replace West Indian superstar Brian Lara as the team's overseas player and will complete his tenth season with the club since joining them in 1987, thus making it his benefit year.

Meanwhile, Warwickshire have announced a pre-tax fall in profits for 1998.The figure of £136,341 was £60,000 down on the previous year.

"This was expected. All in all it's a satisfactory figure for the year after an Ashes Series." said chief executive Dennis Amiss.
