Appeal after pensioner is injured
Greasby Road, Wirral
Mrs Spark was hit by the car on Greasby Road
Police are appealing for help in tracing a driver who knocked over a 90-year-old woman in Wirral, and then drove off.

Mary Sparks suffered serious injuries in the accident on Greasby Road in Greasby, on Wednesday morning.

The driver, a woman aged about 40, at first got out of the car, but then got back in and drove off.

Mrs Spark's grand-daughter Kate Spark, has urged the woman to come forward.

The pensioner suffered a broken leg, multiple fractures and cuts to her face, and was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital.

Ms Spark said: "We are very shocked and very worried about her.

"She is wonderful for her age, active and independent.

"To suffer this injury at 90 is just awful.

"I would like to think that this lady has just panicked, or not realised the full extent of what has happened.

"I would like her get in touch with the police."

The woman was driving a four-wheel-drive car, was aged about 40 and had short dark hair.
