Three men charged over army thefts
The men were charged following a lengthy inquiry
Three men have appeared in court charged in connection with alleged thefts from a Ministry of Defence base in Shropshire.
Harold Thomas Lee, aged 42, a civil servant from Cambridge Road, Fleetwood in Lancashire, is accused of attempting to steal from the base in Donnington, in Telford. Mr Lee is accused of attempting to steal a track from a Stormer military vehicle, along with six charges of theft relating to various items belonging to the Ministry of Defence. Self-employed contractor Graham Leslie Pengelly, aged 41, of Stonecrop Close, Broadstone in Dorset, faces six charges of receiving the items. Army base The men appeared along with 47-year-old Glyn Barrows, also a contractor, from Mayfair Gardens in Tipton, West Bromwich who faces charges of handling the goods. The three were charged in October following an inquiry lasting several months into the Army base's repair organisation at Donnington. They were bailed to appear at Telford Magistrates on 11 December.
