Fourth arrest over body parts
Police divers at canal
Police are still searching the canal
A fourth person has been arrested in connection with the death of a boy whose remains were found scattered in Loughborough.

The boy's remains were found in a canal, on a street and on playing fields.

The arrest of the 18-year-old follows the arrests on Tuesday night of a 15-year-old girl and two men.

A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said: "He has not been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being questioned by detectives at a police station in Leicestershire."

Three black plastic bags have been found

Police have so far recovered an arm and two legs of the victim.

They believe they know the boy's identity, but are waiting to speak to his relatives.

It is thought he was killed during the weekend.

On Sunday, a human arm wrapped in a carrier bag was recovered from the Grand Union Canal.

Third bag

Police later uncovered two legs in another bag in Alan Moss Road.

The contents of a third bag found near playing fields in Roseberry Street have not been revealed.

House-to-house inquiries and extensive searches of the sites took place on Tuesday, prior to the arrests.

Home Office pathologists confirmed that the victim was male.

It is thought the child was about 5ft 5ins to 5ft 11ins and had size seven feet.

His ethnic origin is not yet known, but Home Office pathologists said he was probably not North African or Afro Caribbean.
