Pensioner hurt in hit-and-run
Police car
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward
An elderly woman has suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run accident in Wirral.

The woman, thought to be in her 80s, was hit by a car at Greasby Road, Greasby, just before 1000 GMT on Wednesday.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop after the collision close to the Greasby Community Centre.

The pensioner has been taken to Arrowe Park Hospital with serious injuries.

Merseyside Police want to speak to the owner of a four-wheel drive vehicle which was seen leaving the area at the time.

They are also appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact them.
