Wednesday, January 6, 1999 Published at 04:55 GMT UK Funeral service for Sally ![]() Sally Greig: Had been missing since Christmas party Hundreds of mourners gathered to pay their last respects to teenager Sally Greig, who was found frozen to death in a field days after Christmas. The 18-year-old is thought to have become lost after leaving a Christmas Eve party at the Huntingtower Hotel, three miles from Perth. Her parents, Brian and Barbara, of Aberargie, near Perth, joined friends and colleagues from Cherrybank dental surgery, at Perth Crematorium.
Sally, a dental nurse, walked several miles in freezing temperatures in search of a taxi, twice turning down offers of help from a family who stopped for her in a country lane. After a massive police search Sally's body was found in Tibbermore, five miles from the town.
An RAF helicopter crew spotted the teenager's body lying in a field at Newbiggin Farm. A post mortem established that she had died of hypothermia and police ruled out foul play.
