China is launching a special police force to tackle smuggling.

Reports in the Chinese media say the new force, which numbers six thousand officers, will try and stop the flood of cheap imports that are undercutting Chinese-produced goods.

Correspondent say smuggling has increased over the past year, as other Asian currencies have lost value against the Chinese yuan, making foreign goods even cheaper.
