Two children die in motorway crash
The M40 in Warwickshire
Two children have been killed in a road accident on the M40 in Warwickshire.

The crash happened just before 1900 GMT on Tuesday on the northbound stretch of the motorway near its junction with the M42 at Tanworth-in-Arden.

The children, aged three and eleven, who were from West Bromwich, were in the back seat of a Rover 620 which left the road and rolled down the embankment.

No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.

A 44-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, also from West Bromwich, were taken to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.

The woman suffered head injuries and severe lacerations and the man sustained minor injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash.
