Woman leads the Dakar rally after fifth stage
The fifth stage of this year's Dakar rally has ended in the town of Atar in Mauritania.
Germany's Jutta Kleinschmidt is the current overall rally leader.Last year she became the first woman to ever win a stage of the rally.
Kenjiro Shinozuka of Japan, in second place overall, won today's leg - the first in which drivers encountered hazardous sand dunes.
Today's Wednesday sixth stage is a four-hundred and fifty-eight kilometre run between Atar and the town of Tidjikia.
