Murder accused given bail
The man accused of stabbing another man to death at his home in east Belfast has been released on bail.

William James Murphy, 39, from King's Road is accused of murdering Arthur Berryman at his home in Imperial Street on Halloween night last year.

The prosecution said the motive appeared to relate to an allegation that Mr Berryman had indecently assaulted a young girl.

The matter had been investigated by police and reported to the Director of Public Prosecutions who directed no prosecution.

At the bail hearing at the High Court in Belfast on Tuesday, Mr Justice Weatherup released Mr Murphy on bail of £11,000 and ordered him to report to police daily.
