Ethiopia warns of more war

The Ethiopian Foreign Minister, Seyoum Mesfin, has called on the international community to put economic pressure on Eritrea to resolve its border dispute with Ethiopia, which began last May.

Mr Mesfin told diplomats in Addis Ababa that decisive action was needed to avert a resumption of war.

Several mediation efforts by the OAU and the American envoy, Anthony Lake, have failed, and both sides are reported to have been reinforcing their border positions.
