Seven Nicaraguan fishermen have been rescued after a month drifting at sea.

A Norwegian ship picked up the men nine hundred kilometres off the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua, from where they set off at the beginning of December.

The men had been given up for lost after an intensive air and sea search before Christmas.

They will now be taken to Japan on the Norwegian merchant ship, and flown back to Nicaragua.
