To follow main Angola story South Africa has criticised the Angolan rebel movement, UNITA, over its reluctance to cooperate with the United Nations to reach the sites where the two UN planes have crashed.

Speaking on South African television, the deputy foreign minister, Aziz Pahad, also blamed UNITA for the renewed violence in Angola, which he said had reached frightening proportions.
