The Paris-based organization, Reporters sans Frontieres, says the death of Burkina Faso's most prominent journalist, Norbert Zongo, last month could not have been an accident.
The group's secretary-general, Robert Mefnard, told the BBC it was clearly a political assassination.
Reporters sans Frontieres says Mr Zongo had received death threats after his newspaper published reports saying that a driver of the President's brother had died under torture.
