Senior Kuwaiti minister to visit Jordan

A senior Kuwaiti minister is to visit Jordan on Tuesday in what will be the first high-level Kuwaiti visit since the Gulf crisis of 1990-91.

The Kuwaiti Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Abdul-Aziz al-Dakhil, said he would be delivering a message from his prime minister to Jordan's Crown Prince Hassan.

He said the message dealt with relations between the two brotherly countries.

A Jordanian official called it an important step which Jordan hoped would mark the start of developing ties and improving the Arab climate.

Yesterday, Kuwait invited the Jordanian foreign minister, Abdul Illah Khatib, to visit.
