The Hungarian state rail company has said a strike by workers has had little impact on the country's rail network.
The company says only eight per cent of the workers took part in the indefinite strike, which began at midnight, and around two-thirds of trains ran although some were delayed.
The Free Trade Union of Railway Employees, which represents about a quarter of the country's railway workers, called the strike after talks over pay with the state-owned rail company MAV broke down.
