BJP blames opposition for bad publicity on attacks on Christians

The Hindu nationalist BJP, which is at the head of the governing federal coalition in India, has blamed its political opponents for the publicity given to the recent attacks on Christians in some parts of the country.

The national executive of the party which met in the southern city of Bangalore deplored any attacks on places of worship but praised the steps taken by the Gujarat state government to protect Christians in the wake of the incidents.
