A landmine explosion is reported to have killed seven children in the Afghan capital, Kabul.

The report on Kabul Shariah radio said that three other children were wounded in the blast, which took place near a military base in a northern area of the city Sherpoor.

The radio said that the mine had been laid by what it called opposition forces when they were based in Kabul.
