Gambia says it's begun an effort to mediate an end to the fighting in Sierra Leone.
The Gambian Foreign Minister, Mohamed Lamin Sedat Jobe, told the BBC Gambia was trying to secure a ceasefire between the Sierra Leonean government and rebel forces as quickly as possible.
He gave no details, but said he was confident of success.
Gambian mediation helped secure the peace accords signed in November to end months of fighting in Guinea Bissau.
