Pakistani lawyers demand that judge be given psychiatric examination

A Pakistani lawyers' union has demanded that a High Court judge, JusticeKhalil-ur-Rehman Ramday, be examined by a psychiatrist.

The union , the Lahore High Court Bar Association, has described the judge's day-to-day behaviour as unbecoming and insulting.

The criticism follows a recent courtroom incident in which the judge allegedly made remarks of a personal nature about a lawyer.

The union has asked Pakistan's president, Rafiq Tarar to begin moves to impeach the judge.
