'Threat' to US embassy

The American embassy in Tel Aviv has closed for the day after receiving a threat of an attack.

An embassy spokesman described the threat as credible and specific but gave no details.

The United States has increased security around its diplomatic staff in all parts of the world since the bomb attacks last August on US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania and the American-led military action against Iraq.
